Statement of Purpose
The Brevard Symphony Orchestra South Guild is comprised of a volunteer support organization and serves to promote, sustain, and assist the orchestra. We recognize the BSO as one of the area's oldest arts organizations and a key element in its cultural life. Our members are committed to increasing public awareness of the orchestra's activities, the quality of its performances, and the service it renders to the community. The Guild's activities in support of the orchestra are focused on four main areas.
Guild members provide essential personnel and assistance for major Board fundraising projects and events.
Audience Participation
The Guild shall promote the symphony and encourage attendance at its concerts.
Fund Raising
A major focus of Guild activities is fundraising. The Guild undertakes a variety of fundraising projects throughout the year and contributes a substantial portion of the orchestra's annual operating budget.
Assist the Board of Directors
The Guild members provide essential personnel and assistance for major Board fundraising projects and events.
Hospitality
The Guild provides and serves refreshments when hosting receptions for musicians, audiences, and children's concerts.
The South Guild holds monthly business meetings with a progam and lunch at The Suntree Country Club, September through June. At least one major fundraiser is held each year. All members are encouraged to help at the events by working on committees and buying and/or selling tickets, advertisements, and sponsorships.
All Guild members are encouraged to become season ticket subscribers to the symphony.
